McCoy Motors is still very much a family run business, as a consequence we take a keen interest in the way we interact with our customers. Every year we have targets to hit, and as a company we want to sell more cars in order to grow and expand both our business and the SEAT & CUPRA and Toyota aftersales brands we operate.

However we do not want to do this at the cost of ‘customer satisfaction’ and ‘customer retention’. Ultimately we want to build a network of customers that like us and the way we do business. We want our customers to enjoy the experience of buying a new or used car from us. Customers who will continue coming back when they are thinking of changing.

Sometimes we might not see eye to eye on price and we will ultimately lose customers to other brands and other dealers. But we will never operate any high pressure sales ‘tactics’ to push sales or force people to make a decision they are not ready to make.

We think of ourselves more from a sales advisory point of view from where we can inform you on your potential new car in terms of specification, options, price etc etc. and give you a proper financial breakdown outlining your various finance options (if going the finance route! It’s completely fine with us if you are not doing finance too)

We have a set of rules that we operate by and it’s the same for everyone no matter who you are. See below:

  • We do not charge a fee just to submit a finance application.
  • We will endeavour to always be fair and will give you all the information you need when purchasing a car.
  • In being fair we cannot hold cars – all our cars are for sale and we operate on a first come basis.
  • However there is one exception to the above rule. If you are interested in a specific car that we have and we have discussed final trade in figures with you and you are happy to go ahead subject to seeing our car. However you live far away and it is going to take a couple of hours to get to us. We will hold that car until you arrive and view the car. This is done to give comfort to people travelling long distances so they won’t miss out, if you do not arrive on time the car will go back available for sale. Also if you can’t get to us for a couple of days the car will remain available for sale.
  • We do not sell any cars that somebody has already agreed a price and left a deposit on.
  • We will not take a deposit until you are certain you want the car in question.
  • Once we take a deposit the car is taken off the market and is highlighted as sold to any potential incoming leads online.
  • If you leave a deposit and end up getting declined finance through us we will return your deposit in full. However if you leave a deposit and end up getting declined finance through your own bank / finance institution you will lose that deposit if you decide to cancel.
  • However if you leave a deposit and then after thinking about it for a while you decide to change your mind, unfortunately your deposit will be gone. Once the car is off the market, we will be turning away any potential sales leads we might get on that car or we are fresh ordering a new car that we cannot return and there are costs associated with both scenarios. We don’t like when this happens so please be sure when you decide.
  • We will never operate any pressure tactics to push you into a car you might not otherwise want.

The right decision for you on your new car choice is the right decision for us too & if that’s not with us that’s fine too. We believe buying a car should be a happy and enjoyable experience, and we hope we can guide you through this as easily and seamlessly as possible.

If you make a wrong decision buying a car and end up going for a something that you might not otherwise want there will be an element of frustration and disgruntlement (possibly at us) which we definitely don’t want.
